Sorry to be pedantic, but Westley Richards are and always have been a Birmingham maker, not London! These Brummies take great pride, rightly, in that. As a Londoner myself, I don't admit any of their claims, but there is a good 100 miles between the two cities.

The gun came from London it wasn't made there, I think anyone with a brain cell knows that. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.

I like that ' a true grail gun'.

Was a very successful hunt with this rifle in August, but was a real workout to carry 20-30km a day.

Sorry for the delay on pictures for the archive. I just sold the gun so I took some photos for keep sake. I have another Westley 600 that is lighter and bit easier to handle with much nicer wood so it was time to let this one go..

If the other on has nicer wood, you are a lucky man. I like this double rifle very much.

Best regards Sville

Scott,

Once again thanks for sharing the beauty of your collection with us. I, like many here, could never have something like this in my gun safe. It's really great to be able to see it through the lens of your camera. You have enriched us all.

Best,
Curl

Generalwar.
Could you give us a ball park figure as to what a rifle like that is worth?.
I know I cant aford one but would like to know its value to the right person.

If this is a rude question just say so,I wont be offended.

Cheers Neale.

Nice work and a fine bit of kit with timber appropriate for the calibre. The engraving with exception of the bulino ele (very fine work) is so/so but as Mehul the rationalist defines me; I am but an "anal retentive".

St Ledger case hardening?

The .600 Nitro is the true "Jumbo caliber" of early nitro loaded cartridges. Created with one solem purpose in mind..Elephant in close front up shots, where visual is short...and time of decision is even shorter.

Congratulation again .

...WHAT??? Nicer Wood???

To be an aristocrat... I'll never know. Generalwar, are you taking any applications for indentured servents? I'd like to apply for the job!

Simon, if this piece with its sturdy third fastener, spare detachable locks and tasteful engraving defines brummy, I like brummy!
