This is a wild boar, shot with my .450 BPE Francotte in Sotogrande, Cadiz, South of Spain. Did not travel very far. It was shot in a spanish "monterķa",a type of driven hunt with lots of dogs. I have managed to make the rifle shoot with 405 grains, gas-checked, hard lead, Cast Performance Bullets, at 2000 fps. Well, I think it should be posible hunt something bigger with it...
The other hunters of my party said they could distinguish clearly my shots from the other guns..

Great load, too. 405 @ 2000 is nothing to sneeze at.

Repost of my first and only double rifle kill. Pedersoli 45-70. Remington 300 gr. hollowpoint. Range ~125-150 yards. Cost of hunt ..under $400.00US. Florida hog .
