      #94973 - 23/01/08 12:14 AM

Does someone own a DR in the above mentioned caliber. My grandfather sold such a rifle approx. 50 years ago.
I need some information of this caliber. I still have 3 boxes and don't know for what [image][/image] animals they where used.
Thanks for all informationes.
Johann

Hello Johann - the 1899-vintage Rigby .400/.350 Nitro Express was one of the more popular British sporting rounds in Africa before WWII according to John Taylor. Ballistics were a 310 grain bullet at 2100 fps and it had a very good reputation even on large and dangerous game. I have always wanted a nice single shot chambered for the .350. That old ammunition you have ought to be worth a fair amount also.

Worth having two or more experts give you a fair market value.

I have a Westley droplock in 350 Rigby Magnum - 1908c gun, great calibre. It's a rimless version of the cartridge though.

Most of you know by now I have a .35 WCF which is ballistically identical.

Why would that old ammo be worth anything?

Because it is old. It is also rare and has not been made for 50 years.

I would figure $75-100 a box, depending on condition.
