Hello all.
I went to the emergency room Thursday. I seem to have a problem with my intestines and now I have the problem of paying for it too.
This is all very sudden, and I must do something within the next few months.

So---------
I have been making a VERY fancy American Longrifle for the past 3 years. It's one of those "presentation grade" rifles. I have just worked on it a few hours a month now for about 3 years.
I was going to make it for display at the Gunmakers Hall in Friendship Indiana, and the take it to Safari Club to sell.

Well, if anyone wants it, I will finish it up (it's about 75% done now) and sell it at substantial discount.
I need $3500 fast. This rifle would have sold for about twice that.
If someone wants it for $3500 and can pay within the next month or two, they can have it for that amount.
It's got a 44" swamped .62 caliber barrel, Chambers lock and very good sugar maple stock, with lots of curl.
Please let me know if you (or anyone you know) are interested.

Hey--I realize "shit happens"---and if you say is what it is I would be more than willing to make a financial contribution to your medical expenses..Hopefully others on this site might help as well.. let your conscience be your guide...

I need a colonoscopy soon, and I can't get it until I have it paid up front. (at least 50% of the cost.
My condition could be just an irritated bowel, or it could be diverticulitis, or it could be cancer. The problem is in Wyoming I can't go in for treatment until I can pay, and they can turn me away if I can't pay unless it's a "life threatening condition"
I have to HAVE CANCER for sure before I go in unless I have something to pay with up-front.
If I get the colonoscopy now I probably can head off cancer, but not if I don't have money up-front.
See my problem?
And now I am being billed $2380 for a 4 hour stay in the Riverton emergency room. Some of the bill if for serviced that were NOT rendered, and I am wound up trying to get them to understand that I can't (and won't) pay for something they didn't give me or do for me.
After 4 hours (at $600 an hour) I went home with them saying "we don't know what's wrong with you!
So now I have the bill AND the need to pay for the colonoscopy at another hospital, and nothing is going to happen in my favor until AFTER I came up with some major cash.
You see my problem?
Anyway

I am still at a loss to express the thanks I have to you men. When I went down with this last Thursday I was in a bind. I have always been in good health.

I don't have a "family Doctor". (At least I never did until Thursday)
I have no experience at all with such things. I have no insurance, and no available money, and the whole thing wiped me out.
You men are like Angles of God, coming to me when I am in true need, and you do so without me ever even thinking that such help was "out there", and without you even knowing me from any other man on the street. If we were to pass walking different directions, we'd not know who the other man was!

I am honored and touched!
There just are no words to tell you what that means to me!!!!!!!

i got a hundred $, i dont need as much as you do anyway. but i need some more info from the doc before i can do anything. if i can get his swift numbers(just pm them to me) it will be over there in a flash.
just concentrate on getting well soon, we need people here like you on this planet a lot.

I don't know what a swift number is. Can you enlighten me?
I am calling Doctor Lewis today to let him know that some money will be coming in.
I wish I were able to re-pay you all somehow. I can pray that God will re-pay you, and I will.

Mike, I thank you with all my heart as well. It looks like I may be able to get the tests a lot sooner than I had thought, thanks to you and men like you.

All my life I have done what I could to help other people, but somehow I am taken aback when it's done for me. That might be a condition of my mindset I should work on. I can't even find words to express myself to you wonderful men.

it is one of the fastest ways to send money overseas, but just get me a bank name, number and adress. and what i should write in the message box "for steve zihn" for example.

Hello again Peter and Mike
I just spoke to the people at the Doctors Office, and they tell me They cannot accept wired monies or electronic transfers because they are not set up for it.
(I don't understand such things, but it has something to do with the fact that they manage accounts for 9 companies and are not set up for international funds transfers. The woman said they would not be able to tell who's account to put it in)
Anyway, they said that such a transfer would have to be done by regular mail.
A paper bank draft or check is all they can accept from outside the country.
It would have to be mailed to the address above with the memo of the check saying;
"for Steve Zihn's account #004352"
I am sorry, but they won't do anything else.

You are in our prayers, my budget is a little tight this month but I have checked with my accountant (wife) and will fire off a check for $100 tommorrow morning in hope it helps expedite things for you.

I was inspired years ago by a message on a cement truck of all places: "Find a need and fill it."

Hi All,
I read Steve post yesterday and it pulled at my heart strings, we all have different circumstances happening in our life but fortunately most us will be here tommorrow & the next day to face those challenges and get past them. I had a younger brother that died of Lou Gerings decease (ALS) when he was in his mid thirties. I learned a lesson in character while the family went through this, I saw freinds of his step up & rally for him with fund raisers, parties, vacations, & personal care taking. I was astounded by their support and hope I learned something during that rough spot in the life of my family. During the holidays every year the group I work with goes out & adopts a needy family to help bring happiness into their homes during the holiday's. Some call it corporate citizenship, I always just concidered it compassion. I know it is hard to part with hard earned money to support someone we don't even know, but go back and read some of Steves post, he is a contributer to this group we all exchange in & I want to make sure he stays around as long as possible, so if we could all just give up the price of a couple of boxes of ammo we can get this man in the hospital and on the road to recovery. Please step forward with any help in Steves support the payback is money well spent.

you all the best in this.

Anyone overseas that would like to send money, if it helps,
you can paypal to me and I'll convert it to a money order
for the Doc. I'll cover the paypal fees. This would be a lot easier than trying to convert Pounds or NZ$ in Wyoming.
