Dale,
What kind of performance do you get from this cartridge, I am just starting to get cartridges together for my Scherping double rifle 12.7 x 65R. first load will be 36grns of 4198 pushing a 385 grn bullet for fire forming, will run through the chronograph and see how they regulate as I work my way up.

Dale,

This is a beautiful one! Were many big bore full stocked rifles made? I can't remember even hearing about one. The Dutch maker is also very interesting.

Yet another big thumbs up!

Thanks for posting and very good hunting!

Gentlemen,

When we first got the gun, Dad worked up several light loads and with 85 gr. of 3031 and a 400 gr. woodeigh. It was dead on with the peep sight so we just have stayed with it. That is quite a bit below listed loads, but as the rifle is extremely light it will sure get your attention. To be honest I'm afraid shooting full powered loads might crack the stock and then I'd smother to death! At one time we had a spinnning target set up at 50 yds and the pivit rod was a 1/2" mining roofbolt and as luck would have it, the third shot hit the bolt and cut it in to. I've never hunted with it we just play with it. WvFred let me pay with his 450-400 double and this is one I want to shoot next time we get togeather. :^)
I am hopeing Rolf will post some pictures of his. Fred & I have a mutual friend who has a sporter in this caliber and it is mint. I keep badgering him to post some pictures.

In my attempt to learn more about the rifle, I met a great gentleman in Sweeden who was extremely knowledgable and was friends with, and contacted the owner of the Francotte arms factory in Leige and Masstricht. He did some research and found one german gunmaker that had lived in Ultrecht but aparently it was a very small shop as no other information could be found.
There is a mark on the receiver ring that shows through the stipping and at first we thought it might be an anchor (like the kreigoff mark) but will probably never know for sure.
