I have had one of these on order for well over 18 months now, with no delivery date in sight that I am aware of. One smith I talked to about it said that it would require a good deal of work to smooth out the rough edges. I expect I will accept delivery if one ever materializes.

I had magnum version of the MRC model 1999 on order for 8 months with no delivery in site. Canceled order. Re-ordered about a year later and took immediate delivery. The Professional Hunter version, according to the web site, should be showing up "soon?".

My action is a stainless, left hand magnum length and I am having a 458 Lott built. Overall, the fit and finish are pretty much what I expected for the price. The action will take a lot of honing/polishing internally to get it to feed properly.

Good luck and let us know how the Pro Hunter action looks when you get it............Lee

While I was in Reno this past week I stopped by Brown Rifles and talked with Mark. He had a Safari grade rifle with an anti-rust costing--22" barrel chambered in .416 Remington.. it had the Montana Action on it--he said he started using them when Winchester actions became difficult to acquire for new rifles they were building..

While I have never seen on in the raw---he must have done a lot of work on it because it worked effortlessly with the rifle having a vary natural shouldering too it..but for $6200. is should have.

Looked at another built by Bansner and it was incredible--he uses either Dakota actions or Winchester..he stated the Dakota actions required much less work to get them to his tolerences but would use either--his rifle was also chambered in .416 Remington and was also in the $6000 price range-however this gun felt like the Sako actions from 40 years ago..very nice...
