This might be of interest to the Rigby fans http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=1572274.

The same seller also has an Original Mauser in .500 Jeffery at an attractive price. http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=1400142

Very nice Rigby and fairly priced. Rare 303 slant box. Looks like someone filled some scope mount holes on the action and did not refinish the area. This seller comes up with some interesting pieces.

Do you reckon the Trigger on the 500 Jeffrey is original ?

Any idea when it was made / barreled ?

Is it an Original 500 Jeffrey built on a Mauser
or an original Mauser 500 Jeffrey ?

Could just be a play on words ?

Any ideas ?

I believe that some years ago the Mauser factory put out a limited edition of famous caliber Mauser rifles. I assume this is one of these. They come up from time to time on German auction sites. Looks like a keeper, though. The text says that the current price from Mauser is around 14,000 Euros, which I imagine is correct.

The stock on the .500 does not look like an Original Mauser stock. I think it was re-stocked at least, in a pattern reminiscent of a Ruger M77.

That is a recent made gun by Mauser just a few years back. They made a run of 416 Rigbys and 500 Jeffs as a one time run of 100 guns each. They sold new for $9,997.00 ea.

Not a bad deal considering what a mauser double square bridge magnum action costs alone these days.
