I'm getting a new 375 and was wondering what would be the best scope out there for both dangerous game and mid distance?
Going to use it for some Moose and maybe some cat hunting.
Currently I have a Leupold 1.5 - 5x 20mm on my 375, but I haven't bought a new scope for years.
They now have the night vision ones out also... http://www.imaging1.com/thermal/NVWS4-night-vision-scope.html
Has anyone used the new ones with the build in range finders?
The lowest i can find goes down to a 4 power. http://www.burrisoptics.com/laserscope.html

Night Vision??
You after nocturnal ?gators,pigs,et al?
Would be concerned about the recoil and the night vision scope. The two things don't go together well--
The 4x trijicon may be worth a look- Leupold 1.5x5 and 1.75x6 a great scopes as well--

Best all round scope for a 375 H&H IMHO is the Swarovski 1.5-6x42 with the illuminated circle dot reticle.
I have used this exact scope quite a bit on my 9,3x74R double rifle.

Sorry NE, I have to disagree with the Illuminated Circle Reticle.
Power range is OK but the circles just take up far too much of the animal and IMHO are a distraction.
Had a look at the trijicon - couldn't get used to it.
I agree - Leupold 1.5x5 and 1.75x6 a great scopes as well

I do not like "busy" reticles either, but here is what I have "discovered" about the Swaro circle dot.
The reticle is in the first focal plane.
on low power, especially when in a hurry my eye naturally used the circle.
As power increases, and the shot is farther away my eye naturally used the dot.
I have shot well over a hundred animals with this scope, from stuff small as a guiennea fowl, turkey, bobcat and wild pigs at under 20 yards, to kudu at a little over 300.
This includes cape buff and around 25 zebras.
In fact I like this scope so well I have 2 others.
At night, in low light, or bad shadows, the illuminated feature is awsome.
If a person just cannot go with the illuminated circle dot reticle, then the S&B flash dot is a good one as well.

Are you saying it has a DOT or does it have a CIRCLE with a hole in the centre of it ?

My preference is the Schmidt&Bender "Magnum" Eye relief 1.5-6x42. With or without the Illuminated option. I might ad that I have used most of the other top scopes including Zeiss, Swarovski, Kahles, Nickel, Leopold and Burris.
A mate with this scope on his 375H&H.

I also really like the Swarovski circle dot retticle. It works very well on driven game.

A fixed four power is tough, lightweight, and simple. A fixed power is my preference on heavy kicking, dangerous game rifles.

I have the same leupold you mentioned on my Hawkeye .375 ruger. Works very well with the heavy duplex.

I mounted a 2X Leuy on the .458 Alaskan M70. The straight tube allowed an exceedingly low and ridged mounting. On snapping the gun to the shoulder, the cross hairs were on-target every time. The fit and handling was perfect for dangerous game. With the low power even close shots can be made easily, yet on normal game, afforded enough magnification for deer, bear and moose to 300 yards. As with any sort of equipment, one must practice with it until it's second-nature. : Normally, for big game here, I prefer a straight power scope in the 4X range. For Africa, I think I'd want the ability of removing the scope without effecting the zero. This means top-grade mounts.
