Well, thursday morning my wife an i packed up our two little ones (2.5 and .5) and headed out to my parents' "acreage" (76+) and had a morning of teaching the cousins to shoot and then burning through some rimfire with my dad and brothers...
the end of the morning was punctuated by cracking off shots with the "big-bore" (35 whelen) at leftover pumpkins from 100yds...
watching that through glass is pure comedy... homemade pumpkin pie filling anyone???
from here on we're going to clean out the local stores the day after halloween and store a couple dozen pumpkins for later destruction... we'll have to derive a contest of some sort next year... that was FUN!

Gallon milk jugs are hilarious especially when shot with a "big bore".

especially if you freeze them first w/ a dose of food coloring for enhanced viewing...
next year I'm borrowing a 50-cal muzzleloader for true big-bore fun.
