.360 Nitro Express 2 1/4 " ?
      #88909 - 13/11/07 09:05 PM

I don't know if the .360 N.E. 2 1/4" (9.3x57 R) rates as a big bore but I would like to know more about it. Can anyone tell me:

a. What sort of game this cartridge was (is?) used on?

b. Is the bore/bullet diameter actually .360?

Any info on loads, or where to find them, would also be of interest.

Sandgroper,

The 360 2-1/4" can be formed from 9.3x72R brass. As far as bullet diameters there were two. .358" and .366". I used to own a I. Hollis and the bore diameter was .366". If you get one you will need to slug the barrels to determine the diameter. Dies can be gotten from RCBS. Shoot up to and including 300gr bullets. You will like this caliber. Very mild recoil.
