Trophy Buffalo
      #88440 - 07/11/07 10:11 PM

I haven't quite worked out how to get the photos to come up but here is the link anyway.

http://www.hunt101.com/watermark.php?file=500/36144me_and_trophy-med.jpg

The rifle is a BRNO 602 ZKK in 458wm. I like the Woodleigh (550grn soft nose and solids) projectiles. I missed out on my main annual shoot this year due to work commitments but maybe next year...

The buffalo was taken in November 2004 and I had the horns mounted and they now hang up outside and are a great topic over a few beers.

Unfortunately posts like the above tend to put an end to a thread, no matter how interesting the subject may have been.

Please post more trophy buff photos regardless of the attempts of the above poster to derail this thread with his own wretched insecurities.

...or start a new thread if need be.

Thanks mate.

I tried to get the photo to post on the actual thread, and saw it was a very nice beast, very much worth displaying.

DOK

Can you post or PM me the actual folder address you use at the photo hosting site? I think there is another web address that would display your photos on the net.

So would I JH!! I sold that wild rig about 8 years ago and have regretted it ever since..

Man that truck and I went some crazy places!! That photo was taken at the bottom of the Macleay Gorge NSW - my favourite place in the world (so far). That is 2x 15ft canoes on the roof of that truck. I could carry me and three clients plus 2 canoes and about 350 kg of gear in it .... the world was our oyster.....oh they were the days!!!

It was the best promotional item ever too...

I can see my white Landcruiser getting black stripes right now, with a nice NitroExpress.com logo in black white and silver on the door panels.

Should help me get noticed and probably 'committed' as well.

Seriously did you ever get any reaction from crazies and extreme greenies, especially dents and scratches?

No JH never ....not until now

No I always had good comments ...but then again I live in a small rural city, where it is not uncommon to see utes (pickups) driving around with dead things on them, so it is rare to get bad comments about any such thing.

I dont think the zebra stripes really spell 'hunting' to many people anyhow. It was just a safari vehicle and everyone called it the 'zebra truck'...

Cost me about $300 worth of good quality auto paint and a couple hours with a spray kit. I spent about a day rubbing it back and put on a coat of primer and then 2 coats of white. Then I taped it up and sprayed the stripes onto it....easy. My missus helped me spray it and that was just after we were married...I guess she was really wondering at that point what the hell she had gotten herself into...

If you have the white rig already then you're halfway there mate!!

Dok,real nice buff.
Looks like it would go close to the magic 100 SCI.
I noticed that the tips aint broomed which makes it even more spectacular considering its size.
Well done.

Oh I put so many of my own dents and scratches in it I would never know!!

I once got stuck on a mountain pass in a bush fire, where a huge eucalypt had fallen completely over the road . A one way road - and I was on the wrong side. I decided to sleep in the truck and wait till the 'fire-ies' opened the road up in the morning. After 2 hours I was freezing and the truck was starting to fill up with smoke, so I fired up the beast and backed down the road a way, revved it up and took a flying jump at the head of the tree. The truck was jumping over branches 12 inches round - there was wood breaking and all sorts of shit flying but the old girl came out the other side with but a few scratches and I was on my way home to bed... Gotta love a Land Cruiser!!!
