This DR has been on Champlins site for a while-

http://www.champlinarms.com/Default.aspx...3&GunID=823

What type of 3rd bite does the gun have?

Is the gun too heavy??

What were the manufactored grades/quality of the Osbornes??

Is this gun at a reasonable cost??

price seems ok for a 450/400 3,25"ne but why did he use the 265 grains bullet, the ne ran as far as i know mainly with the 400 grains soft and solid. since that would be the bullet of choice for many i dont see why he dident reported grouping with that load it was intended for.
othervice looks okay to me at 10# it will be a pussycat to shoot.

I agree with George that it's an Osborne. Osborne was one of Birmingham's DR trade makers. I had it's twin, built for Watson Brothers. Although perhaps not the best of the trade makers, there's nothing wrong with them either.

It has Osborne's version of a screw-grip.

Weight is comparable to rifles of the same caliber from the better quality trade makers. Webley's in this caliber are usually of that weight, and handle very well.

From the photos, this gun is typical of the DRs that Osborne built for the trade. It's been well used. Pity that some prior owner polished and blacked the frame. It's a shooter and nothing more. Judging from the description and photos, and having had one of these, I think the price is fair.

I BOUGHT IT! It's firing pins seem to stay forward after

hitting the primers. I'm going to send it to JJP for that to be

corrected and while there I hope he can reduce the trigger

pull weight a little. I am happy!!!

Congrats!!!

I hope it regulates with the more standard bullet weight for caliber 400gr. The best would be if it regulated with both loads. Let us know how it shoots when you get it back.
