Colt Sharps, Anyone know about them ?
      #7982 - 01/02/04 08:54 AM

I have a Colt Sharps, .30/06. It looks like a quality item (I have not fired it). I have only seen a couple years apart. Does anyone know the history of these rifles. Thanks.

I remember reading about them when they came out and if memory serves they were touted as a quality item. I think that was in the late 1970s. However, they were expensive. I remember thinking, "I'll have to get a Ruger." You know, I don't think I've ever seen one except in magazines. I hope somebody has some real information for you.

Hobie,
Thanks for info, I have found out Colt only made 502 of them and they were to compete with the Ruger No1 and Browning B78 but they were too expensive , it is a very slick action with Canjar set trigger. A nice rifle.

Having some trouble with my ImageStation pics. I keep getting "Forbidden" messages.

Have to get smarter!

Only 502! No wonder I've never seen one.
