Thanks for the comments,this rifle is still very nice and shoots great. I would like to take it hunting but don't know if I will. I would like to see it get back to Africa but I know it won't be with me, I have a baby girl coming in about 2 weeks so thats going to take up most of my money but that will be a good thing. Any other questions about the rifle. Thanks BFaucett for showing so much interest.

George,

You can take a plains game safari in South Africa for less than you'd spend for an elk hunt out west. But it would be a shame to risk a rifle as historic as this one to the whims of the luggage gorillas.

Can you tell us how you managed to acquire this rifle? It's quite the find and congratulations on owning it, too bad it can't tell fireside stories...
