H-110 v. WW-296 powder
      #44702 - 23/12/05 12:16 PM

Folks, I had to sneak over here from my Guns & Ammo forum to try to clear something up.

For a long time I have been informed that H-110 & WW-296 are the SAME POWDER. Frankly, I don't believe it. 296 causes excessive muzzle flash in my .44 spl and H-110 doesn't!

Can anyone add their opinion to this?

Thanks

I have used them both as one powder for years in a .45 Ruger. Love them both with heavy cast bullets!

I've always used them interchangeably.

They are interchangable in loads. There can be slight differences, but not enough to concern yourself with. John Linebaugh has been using them both for many years now....depends on what is on sale at the moment you need powder.

In some ctgs. they are interchangeable, while in others, they trade places, ie: one is faster burning than the other, and visa-vis.
