Nice work Roger, very elegant. Personally I like the subtle drop-point, and my 'most favourite' knives are all remarkably similar to yours in shape. Good stuff!

Very nice knife!

Can you explain the method used to heat treat the blade?

heat the blade to 860 degrees C and hold att that temp for 5-10 min so that itīs 860 thruout the whole blade,
after that you quench it in 20 degree oil (lightweight oil... example olive oil)
then you temper the blade att 200 degrees for 2 hours.
thats what the instructions say that i got of the guy who makes the damascus.

Mange tack Roger.

This sounds very much like the temps I use for my knives.

I actually temper the edge at 177 degrees Celsius, but I use a differential process giving the spine of the knife and ricasso a spring temper, and the rest of the tang being left dead soft.

Also, I use used motor oil as a quenching medium. Costs me nothing and works great.
