Seeing as even a bp costs this much now, i take it this price is of interest to some of you?

Subject to condition, a good price.

Those toplever hammer guns are very desirable.

I'd also like to see if it was 375 2 1/2" or
the 375 Flanged Magnum.

It's a .375 2 1/2". Pretty strong price.

I was basing it on being a Magnum.

Ben:

Again, think about the history of it, and it makes sense. The .450 Nitro Express was introduced in 1898. The .375 2 1/2 Flanged Nitro Express was introduced in 1899 as one of the numerous replacements for the .303 intended for the Indian market (the largest market for the British gunmakers) when the .303 was banned there in 1899. The hammergun was on it's way out by then, but hung on in significant numbers of new built guns for another dozen years or so. Consequently, original full nitro hammer double rifles remain fairly common in lots of calibers, including .450 and .375 2 1/2".
