Here's Bosco
      #77705 - 30/04/07 10:35 PM

This is Bosco (pronounced BossKo) our new GSP.
he is 8 weeks old and weighs 12 lbs. He was the last male of the litter available but he was also the one that my daughter wanted from viewing all the photos that the breeder had been sending her from the time they were born on Feb 27, 2007.

I know there are no photos attached but hopefully you will see them soon as I have asked peter to help in the posting of them.

By the way ... Bosco is a natural.... already he can eat, sleep, eat, deficate, sleep, urinate, and eat some more!

Yep young Bosco sure has that look. He looks like he will be a fun dog.

Very nice photo Peter of your son and Sako.

GSPs are such gentle dogs. Have you ever had a problem with him with the baby?

Great photo Peter!

I have known and hunted over two GSP's and both of them were as gentle and easy going as I have ever seen in any breed.... this and the relatively low health problems, were big factors in selecting a GSP.

by the way ,,,, Bosco is in the office with me again today and just sat through a management and then a budget meeting with me... he got a little yappy so out he went and dumped and pee'd right outside on the lawn where he is supposed to!

I am telling you he is learning very quickly and we are all very happy about him being in the family.

Everyone at work loves him and he now has his own tennis ball to chase whenever someone comes in

fetch it up ....GOOD BOY BOSCO!

Yes, I am pretty lucky to be able to bring him to work with me.

speaking of night calls.... this morning at 2 AM when he needed to go out ( and he let the entire house know )it was raining to beat the band ( just as it is now)and he was obviously unsure about what to do so I went out of the door first into the back yard he followed for a step or two then promptly jumped back in the open door and began to wiz on the kitchen floor before I could get back to him.... who says he isnt smart. I reprimanded him but couldnt really blame him.... it was the first time he has seen rain and he wasnt about to go out and get all wet and cold.... the day will come soon though when he will be out in the field all muddied up and loving it.... if the rain lets up by the time we get home tonight, I may take him for a walk down a little tree line that borders an alfalfa field across the road from us.... see if we cant jump a few field mice or the odd puddle duck.

I will bring the camera if it isnt too wet out there.

Re: Here's Bosco [Re: peter]

Thanks Peter!

Here’s a tale or two for you and NitroX........

In the area where I work, we are on the second floor and there are three guys total up here. We have a couple of different washrooms to choose from and I normally use the last one in the hall. Due to it being the furthest down the hall and the fact that its just guys up here, I don’t always close the door when just getting rid of green tea (if you know what I mean). So I go into the washroom start my business and Bosco comes rolling down the hallway and stops when he sees me, and then comes in the room far enough to see what I am up to and I swear he had a look on his face that said WHAT A GREAT IDEA! and proceeded to squat (he doesn’t lift his leg yet) beside the bowl and let it rip on the floor of the washroom! …. Its hard to give him hell when he figured I was doing the same thing.

Last night we walked the tree line and he was far more interested in the attacking the foliage than he was with anything that might have been there and left scent. It was a good 45 minute slow paced walk with some of it tough slugging for the lil fella going through and around some good size puddles and navigating through crop that was nearly as high as him. The camera I brought with me had a low battery so the shots were few and far between,,,, I will send Peter one or two that might give you an idea of where we were but I apologise for the poor quality up front. After our excursion, he was one tired pooch! He slept well last night and only alerted us once that he needed to relieve himself at 2:45 AM.

After letting him out and then heading back to bed I told my daughter that he would probably whimper a bit but that he was ok till 6:30 when I would be up for work…. I woke up this AM and looked over the railing down to the foyer to see her and Bosco asleep on the floor with her duvet as their shared mattress,,,, Bosco gets lots of love!

I hope you have good luck on the foals!
Sadly and stupidly the Government in our province has cancelled the Spring bear hunt. Now the idiots spend all kinds of money trapping and moving problem bears away from the cottages and homes up north of here and have lost all the revenue that the Spring hunt used to bring in!

Sound like a Government decision? if they were in the private sector, they would be out of business overnight, instead they continue to raise taxes to cover up their inefficiencies.

We hunt for black bear in the fall here.... this year I am going with a X-bow and see if I can bag me a nice rug!
