25 bore =.577?

Hello all

Ok, being offered a very good deal on a cape gun. 12g x 25 bore.

Proofed as 13g x 25g rifled on the latter.

Now, if it is a .577 shouldnt it be proofed as .577 express???

Just want to clear this confusing thing up........

might be the short case. 13g shows it is slightly smaller than the standard 12 or large for the standard 14 bore. 25g shows slightly smaller than the standrd 24g. It may be chambered for a 24 gauge shell loaded for ball, not the .577 express. It may even be chambered for the .577 Snider. A chamber cast is the only way to tell.

Was there ever any .577 express x 12g capes made anyway? First one i have ever heard of........
