Any differences between any of them comes down to bullet differences and abilities.

Finn's findings AND writing of a .366" 286gr. soft and solid (2,340fps) being the equal of a 370gr. @ 2,650fps and a 300gr. at 2,480fps on African game is rather enlightening. I well remember an article where he noted exactly that. He'd bunched many rounds into categories. IIRC, he included one of the 8mm's with the 9.3x62 and .375H&H as well.

As to running or walking moose - a bull grunt usually stops them for an easy shot. I've never had to shoot an unwounded running moose (some clients shoot poorly) but even the .458 2" worked on those.

I don't understand why a moose would be running when it was such a long distance from you?

As my late mentor and friend Lester H. Hawkes used to say, there's no flies on that cartridge".

Here in Finland is very common to hunt moose with stopping dog or human chase hunt. Shooters sitting on chain line waiting the moose comes and itīs not so seldom when moose runs. Shooting distances are more often quite short but more than 100 meters isnīt uncommon too.

Interesting!

Sounds like 8 guys standing in a line down the path, waiting for the rabbit target in a sporting clays turkey shoot.

Another overlooked item when comparing the 9.3x62 to the .375 H&H is magazine capacity . In almost every rifle ;Mauser ,Brno, ect the 9.3x62 holds 5 rounds while most .375 commercial rifles hold 3 in reserve. Yes I understand you can get a drop magazine for the .375 but I have rarely seen them and the same can be said about the 9.3x62 . Having those 5 extra rounds is nice I would gladly give up a 100 fps for that.

Seems to me my ZKK 602 .358Norma Mag. and .375H&H held 5+1. Yes - most hold 3+1.

The only time I appreciated the .358 holding 6 was when coyote shooting over bait. Had a whole family of them - the shooting was fast and furious.

I once has a Sauer Lux (beautiful rifle) that came with a special extra dropped magazine that added one more.

Insofar as Rugers go, they stopped making good rifles after Bill passed.

Look at a tang safe 77, a red pad No. 1 or a real RSM. Then look at the current ones. It's like comparing a 1936 German Mauser to one from 1944.

Could not agree more. I have three: RF Sedgley, Merkel SR 1 and a really strange "made for export only" Savage 116.
(Savage also made in 8x57)

I know nothing of overseas hunting laws but was told a HV gun was required in some countries. Suppose since most game is color blind it could make sense.

Also interesting are the 20" barrel, pseudo Express sights and that all the metal surfaces are Nitrided. I made the metal, scope and mounts orange as well with a dip kit. She is very accurate and will hold 1 moa with Speers, Barnes and Noslers. Bought a custom mold for it off castboolits.com that is cut to use 375 gas checks. Looking forward to try it out with it this summer.

Put on your sunglasses !

Dont worry about the sunnies, here is one of my 300WM`s in Mothwing Orange. My Kiwi mate with the first of two stags he took last Sept using 180 Normas.

Its amazing how many people shit can the colour ha ha,forget the colour, she rolled three big stags last year.
