In the Vancouver area. Quite a wilderness down to the city streets.

The river came up about 3 feet while we fished. Expect another 10 inches of rain in the next 24 hours.

The rivers were really low with the fish laying out in the salt. Then the rain came and now they are moving upstream by the millions. Literally.

Looks like fun!

Was it just raining or cold as well?

But nice salmon.

A determined fisherman.

I see Jack looks as thrilled as ever.

Glad to hear you had a good time. You will not catch me out there in this weather.

About 50F (10C) Not as unpleasant as it looks. With waders, a good jacket and hat you only get damp.

There were three of us and we hooked and played about a hundred fish on Sat. Landed about 30.

It still raining. About 72 hours now and they say it will continue for another 24.

That is Jack's happy face.

A little drizzle never hurt anyone. You theatre types are just pansies.

Sorry, the gunshow was last weekend. Next is Dec. 9-10

I'm not a carpet rolling, slipper wearing, tutu fluffer!

I make rain at work, so I stay away from it on my days off.

While I'm personally not the theatre type, I'm a self-confessed pansy
when it comes to freezing my tits off fishing!
I'll happily walk yer pants off in tropical heat though, its 46 degrees
'down the track' from my place at the moment, that's 115 north american
degrees in the shade where we hunted on Sunday.

I could probably fund a guided fishing trip to BC each year on our summer air-con bill!

Nice salmon, BTW. Congrats.

Actually 10C is not too cold for us. We will be wishing it was that warm in a few weeks.

I remember being in Darwin one May. We were with a local fellow whose name I forget. Staying over in an Abbotoir. It was 98F at night. The bugs were so thick we had to turn out the lights in order to open the door to leave.

The fellow I was with was laying on a foamy, curled up in a fetal position with a blanket pulled around his chin. He was complaining about how cold it was.

You can always get warm, but you can't always get cool.

Come on over and I'll show you how to catch a fish that will make you wish a Baramundi were half as tough.

We also have better Crabs.

My sense of modesty precludes me from even asking where you got that example.

Suffice to say I was speaking of the Dungeness variety.

Last Thursday, 3 of us caught 30 chinook on the Nestucca in Oregon before we started to keep them. We kept our limit of 6 including a 44 pounder. This week the river is completely blown out and houses flooded. BUMMER!

The same as up here. The river came over a couple of roads.

Adam - you really must come up to fish with my wife and I on the Babine river next August/September.
; Flyfishing only - beautiful weather. We camped at the cabins just above Rainbow alley only 12 KM from the river.
; 2 Days, limit is only 4 Sockey, but waht a blast. I landed 31, releasing 27. Had I a faster sinking tip, I'd have caught more.
; First picture, one on with the 15' Orvis salmon rod.
: Bottom picture, granddaughter Teeghan helps me land one on the short rod.
; The weather here is much more pleasant than that Vancouver Weather. That's why I moved north. 'Course, it is getting cold now.

Thanks for the offer. I remember standing on the dock on Babine Lake waiting for the barge and seeing salmon everywhere. I was heading in for moose though...

Are you getting ready for Steelhead?

Adam - I've thought of a trip to the Kitimat this spring for Steelhead. With a trip back East (folks are getting old) + the usual gopher blast & 2 week FireHog's fishing trip, I might not make it for steelies this year, again.
: We will be on the Babine river for Sockeye, though & maybe at Terrace for them earlier - Tracy has already booked her time off for those trips.
: Steelhead on the Bulkley river in the fall is nice too - especially with dry flies, waked or dead drift.

Adam - you must drop in on the way through. You can overnight here if you like, then it's just another day's drive on to Terrace - 8 hours to here, then 4 hours to Smither and another 2 1/2 to Terrace - depending, of course, on your velocity, corrected to the road.
