I have a broken folding hood on the front of a Holland single barrel rifle that I would like to fix. I have an idea as to how it works but would love to see pictures of a working hood before I try to build one. Does anyone have one of these on a rifle? Would you be able to share a picture? The right hand side is broken on my rifle. Thanks a bunch.

Steve, Is it a broken folding hood or the folding night sight? NECG has photos of them on their website.

Any chance of a photo as slight variations between types
/ calibres occured ?
Also, why not try Hollands in the UK ?

Ron,
this rifle is fitted with two night sights, both of which work fine. It is the folding hood that is broken.

I can do photos early next week. I'm not in the shop again until tuesday.A letter is enclosed with the gun asking Holland about thwe sight and getting it repaired, I guess they werent able to do it back in '85 when the previous owner tried. The thing is made out of spring steel and looks to be a bugger to make.

I would try Hollands again and include photos this time.
Much easier for someone to look at photos and say
yes, we have that or we can make it.
Will advise more when I see the photos.

That looks like a slightly different front sight to my Hollands. I'll get them out an dhave a look at them.
