ghost ring rear sight
      #70882 - 06/02/07 09:08 AM

Hello,

Having two rifles buile and am considering using a ghost ring rear sight. Have seen some and think I'd like to use it but where to mount? Logically on the receiver bridge? Has anyone done this? Would it be removable and stored in the grip trap?

thanks for the input.

Mount it on the rear receiver ring and leave it there once sighted.

You should be able to mount and use a scope as well
as having the ghost ring.

Here's an interesting option.

Only for M70 or MRC m99 so far.

I'm using a XS system ghost ring on my Parker Hale which has been re-reamed to .458 Lott. It works just fine for abusing the 8" and 10" steel plates at our 100 yd. range. I normally shoot a 500 gr Woodliegh soft at around 2,200 fps and had to use the taller ghost ring which mounts on a Weaver base on the rear reciever bridge

I leave the ghost ring in place in my rifle, but this is only possible because the scope is mounted forward of the receiver. If you prefer a scope mounted in the conventional manner, the Brockman sight is the best solution I have seen.
