Jeffery rifle sights
      #70618 - 01/02/07 01:50 PM

I'm looking for images of original Jeffery socket block ivory-set front sight blade, hood for that sight, and also the 8872 patent striker-mounted peepsight.

My mannlicher is missing it's hood, the ivory insert for the sight blade, and some small parts from the peepsight.
I'm going to reproduce these parts and would like photos to work from.

Thanks

There are some old Jeffery catalogs available at www.cornellpubs.com that may show what you are looking for. I've gotten several old catalog copies from them. They have the 1904, 1910, 1912, and 1930 Jeffery catalogs in stock. Pretty good quality, considering the shape of the source material. HTH

I'd thought of the catalogs, I too have some reprint catalogs from cornell.
The images from the catalogs don't really represent the kind of detail I want to see. Much of the detail seen in those catalogs is from drawings or etching prints of the design.

I really want to see photos of actual rifles.
What ended up on the metal was typically somewhat different in detail from what was shown in print.
