470 Capstick

Does anyone have this cartridge? I have this round in my cartridge collection, but I don't know anyone with one in any rifle.I was thinking of putting one in a #1-H.A toss-up between 458 Lott and a 470 Capstick. The Cap's got more energy, but the Lott got more bullets to pick from.Dave

I have 2 rifles in 470 capstick and one in 458 lott. The capstick holds a little more powder, but not much, and if you are a fan of big bullet diameter, .474" is the best you can get out of a .375 H&H case. However, overall the 458 Lott is more practical.

I have a Winchester 70 Custom African Express in .470 Capstick. I find it is as versitile as the .458 Lott. There are lightweight handgun bullets available for reduced loads and 500 and 600 grain softs and solids for big stuff.
