What kind? Recipes?

I eat lobster, they are bugs to me, crab too.

Ann,

When I was younger and dumber, my friends and I used to put live ants into shot glasses of Tequila. The ants were quite crunchy. Does that count?

I've also eaten my fair share of Mopane worms, which I liked quite well. But I don't have any recipe unfortunately.

I'll try to remember to post my super secret lobster soup for you tommorow. It takes the most part of a day to make, but it's real yummy!

You are my hero! I have yet to try an ant let alone a caterpillar!

Always looking for recipies! Lobsters are not cheap here but I may just splurge!

Nice John, I am looking to see if I can find crayfish here in the numerous brooks in Vermont. I am not sure if they occure here or not.

Your freshwater yabbies are what we call crayfish or crawdads.

I have a nice big scar over one of my fingertips where a big Florida blue crab pinched straight through while I was tossing it in the boiling pot.

Guess it got its revenge on me. I ate it anyway.

while in Puebla Mexico on business, I took the opportunity to sample some of the fair from the insect kingdom we had ant eggs, some worm larvae, and crickets.

the ant eggs were bland, to the point of taistless, the worm larvae were quite tasty with a crunchy outer shell and creamy centre, and the crickets were not all that good in taste or tetxture.

all of these were orderded as apetizers and done on a quasi dare by the locals who thought I wouldnt eat what they put in front of me....... they new that they lost the challenge when I orderd a second plate of the worms for the table.

Something raw and sweet which can be eaten in Australia, at least it is or was by the Australian Aboriginals was honey-ants. Ants fed by their kin with honey as living storage vessels till they looked like a honey "marble" hanging from the ceilings of their ant caverns.

Scientific name: Endoxyla leucomochla (Turner, 1915)

Witchetty grubs live in tunnels in the ground where they feed on sap from the roots of two species of Acacia, commomly known as Wichetty Bush and Small Cooba. The caterpillar grows to an approximate length of about 7cm and pupates inside its tunnel. The adult is a large grey wood moth with finely mottled wings and a wingspan of about 16cms. The adult, a wood moth, posesses degenerate mouthparts and relies completely on the nourishment it obtained as a caterpillar to meet its energy requirements.

I call Lobster, Bugs too.
I got that name from the movie "TOM HORN", when he is at the big feast.
They put a Lobster on his plate, and he says "I ain't never ate a bug this big".
[Which seems to indicate he has eaten smaller bugs

].

I love Lobster...

But I do not eat "smaller" bugs.
