Sealing No. 1 forend...???
      #66635 - 09/12/06 07:26 AM

Wondering what you Ruger No 1 shooters use to seal the barrel channel / inletting of your No 1's? I was thinking of Birchwood's gunstock sealer and filler for my RSI. I know that it is important not to change the barrel channel with sanding. Is there anything necessary to remove the stock besides unscrewing the draw bolt? I've had the forend off, but not the stock. Anything else I should be using or be aware of?

Thanks,

Ben

BTW - the gun shoots $12/box S&B 173gr ammo 3/4" 3 shots @ 100yds, off a rest!

I've used Varathane and a spar type sealant.
