Safety on drilling

I have a Krieghoff drilling in a 16x16x8x57jr that is great in most all respects. The side safety has been one item of contention for me that is neither handy nor easy to use. Can it be modified for easier manipulation? (I've had this gun since '84; you'd think I would have gotten used to it by now.) Any suggestions? Riley

Assuming that it is a Greener side safety, any decent gunsmith can file the existing button flat and solder a higher one onto it. I like to add 3/16" above the previous button height.

If you don't like the drilling, sell it to me...

L2S - Yes it is a Greener side safety; thanks much for the info. Sorry my drilling is not for sale, but if you have some extra ones laying around your place you'd like to trade off, let me know. Regards, Riley
