Thanks Mickey, Thanks NickUdu

A really pleasant story.

Sadly, Congo is now a world in his own, one of the riskiest place in Africa, madness in action.

I see a number of people have read the article.

If you want more than speak up, other wise they will stop coming.

Mick

You are 100% right. Nick's work is always good value. Interesting old and new articles and stories. Great collections of photos of game animals. I always find them very interesting and they are a big plus.

If NitroExpress.com can be any assistance to Nickudu with his features we would be more than willing to see what could be done.

On the showing appreciation side, it is really nice when members enjoying an article, photos, a joke or whatever, show some appreciation even if its a simple sentence, comment or whatever. I know when putting something up myself, especially if it takes lots of hours, while page views show interest, some feedback especially if people enjoy it, is much appreciated.

Nick's work is five-star and a great variety of material. Being voluntary done without a commercial motive, showing appreciation is a good way to encourage guys like Nick to keep up the good work.

Please keep the stories coming

I greatly appreciate these posts and always look forward to the next installation

It's like a moment of vacation, like when my brother and I would stay up late listening to stories on the radio when we were little kids -- we'd get to visit some faraway place and dream of adventures outside our local hills and lakes

More please!

Great story Mickey and Nickudu. I'm sure I'm not the only one on NE who feels drawn to the DRC!

I know that some of the hunting reconnaissance trips done in the DRC in the last few years have been up in the area mentioned in the story. In the northeast of DRC. Although it unfortunately seems like it will still be some time before tourist hunting will be possible.

I was told by a friend of mine who was in DRC a couple of years ago that fresh bongo tracks were seen on various logging roads in the rain forest somewhere reasonably close to the stories location, but alas, when such logging roads are opened, the downside is often that the game is quickly poached out...

Here's a map for those who might not be familiar with where the story takes place:

The Ituri forest is south/southeast from Niangara.

It was also interesting to read that they used slings on their rifles, as the pros and cons of using a sling have been a topic of discussion here previously.

I for one hope we will see more stories from Nickudu!

Erik

Mick, thanks for posting this. I don't know how Nick manages to come up with all of these stories, but, they always are first rate. So thanks to Mick and Nick.

Mike

What happens is guys send Nick material to post and he picks and chooses what he wants as to content. He'll copy them and enters the stuff as he gets time. In this case, he changes out the stories every 7-10 days until the newer material runs out. In fact, if anybody has interesting stuff they'd like to share, send it to Nick and he send it back right after he copies what he wants.
