Clark,

I've been away for awhile. Email me or post some pics of your 577 please.

Blair:

Here are some photos. Some are better than others.

Here is a photo of the underside of the action. It is still in the white, but the best photo of the elephant:

Clark

That's a beautiful rifle. Love the wood but the artwork is the best of all.

I have alot of nice big bore stuff, but none of mine compare to this rifle. That is one of the nicest over all rifles I have ever seen. Engraving and wood are absolutely gorgous!! You must be very proud of it, and you damn well should be. Congradulations on such a wonderful gun.

The pictures don't do it justice.

I had the priviledge to shoot her at the summer DRSS gathering. She is one bad bitch!

Jim:

I hope you shoot her again in January!

Eventhough I own the gun, I have to agree that the photos don't do it justice. The engraving looks A LOT better and more detailed in person.

Clark,

Thanks to men like you, the rest of the world can appriciate fine American craftmenship. I'm amazed at how tastefull it is with all that engraving. She is a classic from the get go. I hope you get to do some killing with your timless beauty. I hope to get to see some of you fellows in 2007 at the DRSS events.

Your rifle is a work of art!! Stunning!!

What a beautiful combination of art and function.

We need to hear about any hunting tales involving this beauty in the future.

Both Grizzly and 400 Nitro shot her this past August while at the last DRSS hunt.

I can say this: she does kick, but not nearly as bad as I thought she would. My .500 NE gives me a nice, hard, sharp crack in the shoulder. The .577, IMO, gives a VERY large, hard shove.

For me, the geometry of the stock is pretty good. The first time I shot it I smacked my nose with my hand. I haven;t done that since, so I'm pawning it off to the first unknown shot.

I understand that this type of engraving isn't to everyone's liking. But from what my father and I liked, I truly feel, for our tastes, that it is perfect.

Having spoken to Butch, this gun will probably go to SCI and/or DSC with him next year should anyone want to take a closer look at it. And, if you guys make it to a DRSS hunt (the next one is the Monday to Thursday immediately after DSC), you are more than welcome to shoot it.

I personally think the engraveing on that 577NE rifle is perfectly ballanced to the use it was made for! The only problem I have with animals sceens, is when they are not well done, and look like cartoons. These are very well done, and inhance the value of that rifle, IMO!

that is indeed a work of art,I did'nt ask to shoot it at the last shoot,I felt it would'nt be fair, the honeymoon was still kind of going on,but this time around in Dallas I am going to be in line for the ultimate experience, did you name her yet?
I wonder what it's going to do those poor hogs?would make for some interesting videos eh?

Clark:

Yeah, on the first shot, my right thumb got into the end of my nose just enough for me to notice it too. I didn't have a tape, so I checked it against my gun. The LOP must be about 14.5", and I need 15".

It's a helluva shove, but certainly not painful in any way. 13/6 is a good weight for it.

Clark,

I'll be glad to go another round with that sweetheart in January. I don't think that the 100 degree day we shot in August did anything to tame the full load Kynochs I put through it! The heat did make her a tad ornery. January should be perfect timing - the doctor says that my brain should reattach itself and my double vision should be gone by then.
