Big python on display in Java

A recreation park in Indonesia is displaying a 15-metre python believed to be the longest ever captured.

The huge, dark-coloured male snake has a diameter of 85 centimetres, weighs 447 kg and is 14.85 metres long.

According to keepers of an animal exhibition at the Curugsewu park in the small Central Java town of Kendal the nameless serpent likes to gulp down dogs.

It eats at least five a month.

The reticulated python was captured last year on Sumatra and kept in captivity by villagers.

According to the Guinness World Records, the longest discovered snake was also a reticulated python 10 metres long when found in Sulawesi island in 1912

***

From reports the python was worshipped by the local villagers.

I'd feel better if they would feed it pigs or virgins or something.

Protest to the Indonesian Embassy Re: Big Snake likes to gulp down dogs [Re: NitroX]

CNN shame on you for sending that report. One should encourage viewers / readers to write a protest letter to the Indonesian Embassy with demand that one stop feeding the snake dogs, mans best friend.
Either kill the snake or feed it pigs.

Robbie, I agree. It is bad enough that around here we feed the Cougars with Dogs but a 49 foot Snake gives me the willies.
