Mickey,

I'm in for sure.

In fact, I made the same inquiry over on the General forum two weeks ago and got zip for replies.

Vintagers - Millbrook NY, Sept 21-24, 2006

Maybe we can drum up some interest on the DR forum.

I look forward to seeing you there. Bring Adam Tayler too. We had a good time in Las Vegas last February.

We shall be in touch as the date approaches.

You can always look for this tag (though it's on a slate gray Expedition as of yesterday):

I may be able to make it out there. Looks like great fun. Anyone shooting in one of the competitions/shoots? You guys going to dress up?

Well, it ain't a nudist colony, so I'll wear something. Just regular American clothes for me though.

I did shoot in the Stalking Rifle Competition several years ago. It's fun, but high-dollar at $150 entrance fee for 20 shots.

I think most of the shooters do shotgun events. I don't know enough about scatterguns to do that.

I will be there as always. This is the last year at Millbrook/ Orvis. The rifle events have been expanded by the addition of 12 shots, 6 per day, at" a variety of timed targets". Remember to bring extra ammo. The Vintagers offer a "carte blanch" which allows you to shoot every event once. The cost is $500. If you shoot a lot, especially shotgun,it is well worth it as the rifle events alone are $300{including The drilling event}. Do not worry about the "dress code" only a few will be dressed to the nines, and "safari" works just fine. Plain old jeans and tee shirt will be about as well. Just come along and enjoy what has come to be the best gathering of it's type in America. With guns, shooting, good food, and drink, and a parcel of people with similar interests it is worth attending. I hope to see you all there. My NH plate number is SXS.
All the best, SXS

500N,

There's been no announcement on the new venue. David Trevallion told me he had heard it would move to Maryland.

Great. I'm coming with a couple of friends and one may shoot in some of the shotty events. I had thought about shooting my 470 but think I may just be an observer this time.

I heard from a friend in Aus that they have decided to not come as they can't bring enough ammo and the US rules on importing rifles is so screwy. I guess that SSAA has also decided to not help out anymore or at least not help much.

We should exchange cel numbers or arrange a meet somewhere.

Oh, forgot to mention i am throwing in my fly pole. I have always wanted to fish the Battenkill so maybe a chance.

I'll ask Adam. He reads this forum when he's not working but that could be few times and far between. (reading, not working )

From the "horses mouth" about a week ago: " It's 99.9 percent sure; It will be at Pintail Point".

I understand some of the owners will be at Millbrook to check out the rifle ranges so they can build theirs.
Sorry to hear the chaps from "Down Under" will not be able to attend; They are a great fun-loving bunch.
All the best, SXS
