What do I need to do for the pre 64 model 70 in 458? Where should it be glassed? What QD mounts and rings would you use? It has a Canjar(spell?) trigger that is too light. Can they be adjusted heaver ? I have never worked with one.

K80 , if the rifle is a pre 64, 458 win mag mod 70 Winchester, and there are no problems with it now, after 42 years, I doubt there will be a problem in the future! Shoot it, and enjoy!

My concern is to make sure it makes the next 49 years. The stock is my main concern. The metal with care should last many life times. The stock has 2 crossbolts. The rifle appears not to have been shot much. I want to be pro active preventing any problems. I plan to shoot this rifle a lot more than it has been in the past. Thanks
I pulled the action out of the stock. Found that both recoil areas( front barrel screw and under the front ring )were already glassed. Is this sufficient ?
