Homemade Double Rifles
      #60426 - 27/07/06 10:25 AM

From what little time Ive spent on this forum, I have searched through it and noticed there have been a few topics posted on "how can I build my own double rifle", or other somewhat related posts. This is not one of those "how to" posts, but rather a link to an interesting forum where a man talks a little about "building his own double rifle". Here is the link

Thought it might interest some of you

Very interesting, thanks.

Lot of people on that forum with no clue about double rifles though!

The maker has left the barrels way too heavy by the look of it, with balance 5 inches in front of the standing breech without the ribs laid yet. I bet if felt more lively with the aluminium blanks in place! Still, looks like a good result from the photos.

You've got that right! From an industrial machinist's point of view, this looks good, and was done the easist way, but from a double rifle person's eye, it looks like a plumber did the work! I wonder how well it was regulated when he finished it! My prediction is, not well!, and it certainly would not ballance well.
