I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has been to Lamu in Kenya, Zanzibar in Tanzania or has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro.
When travelling in 1989 I was disappointed not to get to either Lamu or Zanzibar nor to climb Kilimanjaro which I really wanted to do.
Lamu and Zanzibar are old Arabic and Swahili trading ports. Zanzibar was the setting off point for a lot of expeditions of exploration and hunting in the very early days of East Africa.
Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa but can be "climbed" by walking over a trip of several days.
Welcome any comments, stories or personal experiences.

I had been in Zanzibar in 1999 after a 30 days safari. I spent 10 days diving along the island with my wife. Is a nice place for a happy rest but not cheap. Any other cuestion???
