lowest pressure big bore rifle rounds for sxs ?

I am going to convert a side by side shotgun to a rifle and need to know the lowest pressure rifle round of at least 45 caliber I could use , besides a 45-70, I want something bigger? Thanks

Well there is no real answer here. see it depends on what you are trying to do. For example the lowest pressure full nitro load will be a lot more than a Nitro for Black Load. Even look at the 45-70, that single cartridge has 3 very well know levels that it is loaded. Thus with out an idea of the minimum ballistic performance you are looking for this is about impossible to answer.

The lowest pressure Nitro Express round is the 450 No2.
With the standard load of 80 grains of cordite it was the lowest. The Tropical Load of 75 grains of cordite was even lower.
My 450 No2 is regulated for the 75 grain load. I use 88 grains of RL 15 with 480/500 grain bullets in my double.

Hits elephant, buff, and everything else, like the Hammer of Thor.

Are you sure? I thought the 577 2 3/4" was less? I could be wrong but I was just using that to illustrate my point in the earlier post.

Oh and the 600 Nitro Express (100 gr cordite) I beleive is less pressure than the 450 #2.
