New Shipment of 9.3x64 Brass @ Huntingtons
      #57704 - 24/05/06 01:35 PM

For anybody else in need, Huntingtons just got in a batch of RWS 9.3x64 brass. I just ordered 4 boxes and will order more if they still have some when I get some more spare $$$. Now I can finally feed my new Mauser 99!

Back when Huntingtons got the distributorship for RWS, Buzz told me they ordered what they thought was plenty of 9.3X64. They were out in a matter of weeks. Grab it while it's there.

This brings me to a question. Is it legal to simply postal mail someone brass cases? Not loaded ammunition but just empty cases? Does it vary from country to country? I ask because obvivously this could be a great benefit to each other on this forum.

I cannot see why it would be illegal. It is after all just metal, and not a harmfull one at that...

Here is what 23 CFR the International Traffic in Arms Regulation says about exporting brass from the U.S. If you look at the definitions you will find brass is defined as a component of Ammunition.

Sect 123.17 .Exports of firearms and ammunltlon.
(a) Except as provided in Sect 126.1 of
this subchapter, District Directors of
Customs shall permit the export without
a license of components and parts
for Category I(a) firearms, except barrels,
cylinders, receivers (frames) or
complete breech mechanisms when the
total value does not exceed $100 wholesale
in any transaction.

That will get it out of the U.S. Then you will have to figure out how to get into the other country.

Section 126.1 refers shipping to prohibited countries.

I hate it when that happens...I know I posted a response last night about importing brass into the U.S.

Apply to ATF for an import license.

Of course I have had brass sent to me without any paper work. Cringe.

I have given you the Textbook response above

DD,

Don't worry about anything. I already have some calls out to officials to check on legailty. It's nice to hear from others who may have dealt with it to find out how much trouble the whole thing is, and whether or not it's just easier to pay more from the start.
