Fraser 450/400 3 1/4"
      #56296 - 03/05/06 02:25 PM

From what I have found, the Daniel Fraser Company records no longer exist. I do know that this one was built between 1898 and 1908. It has a couple of nice features:

1: It is in great condition
2: It has a flip up bead for low light shooting
3: It has an inlaid Ruby to let you know the safe is off. I guess there are times when red paint won't do.
4: It is on face and the bores are excellent.
5: It has a funky recoil pad that is original that looks like a Silvers pad sandwiched between plates.
6: Hand filed Rib

The barrels are 27" in length and the LOP to the front trigger is 14.5". I'll check the weight out tonight.

I did get lucky on this one and I know it.

Thanks and hats off to CptCrl for helping me with the image import process.

That is a really nice looking rifle. I've never seen the design on the back of the action quite like that. I like it very much. In fact so much so that more pics would be apprecieated. Not to mention stats such as barrel length, weight, etc.

577500WR,

That is a super nice Fraser DR. It makes a wonderful addition to the DRArchive.

How does it shoot?

Is it Nitro or BPE?

Very very nice pictures Matt!
Too bad that they don't show just how nice that rifle is.

What a beautiful rifle! All Scottish gunmakers have consolidated under under this name though they use only a couple of names on the guns they build. If you want to get some history on your gun this forum would be able to help.

Thanks and best wishes hunting with this beauty,

577500WR

Have you taken the action apart ?

If so or if you do in the future, I would
like to know if it has gold plated locks.

Just been doing a bit of a study on which
do and which don't - and trying to find a pattern
which so far has eluded me.

Very nice gun.

Really beautiful rifle and a really practical caliber, too. That gun would be really tempting to become a real user!!

What are your intentions with it? Hunting, range or just collecting?
