Difference between a Gew98 and K98?

I don't understand the difference between these two - they look very similar. Which is "better?"

Thank you for your time.

The Gew 98 is the full length infantry rifle, the K 98 is the carbine or shortened version. This was the one extensively used in WW2 whereas the Gew 98 was more commonly used in WW1. The K98 is generally shorter, lighter and handier and has much more useable sights. I would guess ( certainly in the UK ) that the K98 is much more common.
