I saw your alias and I assume the "412" is a Valmet or Tikka?

How big did you get?

If "big" is a calibre in a Valmet or Tikka. My interest is of course due to having one myself.

haha, the "big 412" refers to my birthday and initially to when I would be leaving the NT to move to SA, however I am going earlier and moving to the hills area in June, and pay a small fortune to become a licenced shooter and register my already registered guns in your state, including my .416 Taylor and .405 double etc. but I will head back for the goose season and a bit of fishing etc. Sorry to disappoint, I have often wondered about the Valmet systems tho!

It is a pain in the butt to shift states with firearms as they usually insist on all the rigmerole all over again. Hey but we have "uniform" gun laws don't we!

We should try to catch up when you are here.

The Adelaide Hills is a very pretty place to live.

absolutely, from the $160 for the course (they don't recognise any previous history) to the huge increase on an AB licence ($30 for 5 yrs in the NT to $221 for 5 in SA) not too mention $22 per firearm for EACH firearm, instead of reduced cost of $5 per firearm to transfer to the NT with a ceiling of $40. I'm looking at 20 something times $22, however, not too winge I'm looking forward to the hills and getting into some hunting down there, and back to the NT from dry to dry etc etc.
Bought a house at Nairne, absolutely love the area and can't wait to start sussing some hunting out. Spoke to a chap from the Adelaide muzzleloader club and went and had a look and was really impressed. I spose the best thing will be the exploring!! Yes, definitely like to catch up. As I sit here in this torential downpour from Monica, I long for that desert country.
