I thought Saber tooth tiger too but the jaw shape looks wrong for a cat.

Something prehistoric? A deer from Transylvania?

No I think I know as I cheated a little and looked it up in a ref book.

My first thought was the Saber tooth tiger but then I looked at the front teeth and realized it was a grass eater, then I had two to chose among. Muntjac or Chinese Water deer and since the Muntjac males has horns that was only one left.

Now you have to give me something harder to think off!

Those teeth don't look very adequate for a carnivore...

My own audacious theory is that the smilodon was an earthworm eater, and that it used its caninas to dig its preys out .

Does it make sense to you guys?
