TRADGEDY
      #54141 - 05/04/06 12:26 PM

I have been gone for 2 weeks because of a terrible accident that happened at my house on saturday march 25th. My 14 year old son fell from our loft and got caught up in a rope. He was strangled. I did CPR untill the ambulance got there. We got his pulse back at the hospital and he was flown to childrens hospital in St. Louis. He fought hard for 3 1/2 days before he died on tuesday, march, 28th at 8:00 pm. My family is totally crushed and I have lost my most preciuos shooting buddy of the last 10 years. He started shooting with me when he was 4 years old. I love him so much and I am totally lost without him. Sorry about the bad news, please hug your kids every night. He was an organ doner and saved 4 separate lives on wed. afternoon. I hope every one will consider being an organ doner. You never know when you or your family may need one. Please think about it. I am very proud of my son, Kyle, for what he did. My children are so important to me, I am absolutly devastated at this time..

Kyle, I love you buddy, Dad

Hey Man, any time you want to drop a message go ahead and write me.
Thank God I haven't lost a child, but in the last year and a half I've lost one of the best friends I ever had -- he died in my hands -- and both of my parents. All of them were young.
You're going to need to be square with your emotions as they come around, you'll be running the gamut for sure.

Know that whatever's going on that you're completely welcome to drop a line and say or ask anything you want.

Bless you and your family, Bless your little boy.

Geezus mate thats the worst sort of news that anybody wants in their life, totally devastating to you and your family,i saw how this sort of thing affected my mother in losing a daughter(sister)and dont ever want to see anybody go through that again..i know how you are feeling and i can only offer my condolences to you and your family.

My hunting mate lost his young son a couple of years back and he is only just getting back into it a little now as it was equally devastating to him..after seeing this happen you have to reflect on how good it was while you had him with you and never let those fond memories go.

Bigdog,

I can't imagine the terrible grief you are feeling. My heart goes out to you. A couple who are our close friends lost their elder daughter to a brain tumor several years ago. She was just 20 and in college. I saw first hand what this type of loss brings to bear.

Keep your head together, and seek the comfort of others.

Sincerely,
Curl

Bigdog,

My heartfelt condolences. Not having children, I can understand how great a loss this must have been. Take good care of yourself and of your Mrs. This is sad, very sad.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I think what makes it hurt more is that you think you as the parent will be the first one to go, not any of your children. I do not know what exactly you are thinking, but I lost my mother to cancer at the end of January and it tore my heart out that I was powerless to ease any suffering or actively fight the battle with her. We are so used to mending cuts, bruises, and bones that it is frustrating when our hands are tied and we have no control. When she did go, and it was inevitable in the last month, it still came as a suprise. You tell yourself she will make it, she will last longer. The family was by her side when she left, talking to her and comforting her. Even though she could not communicate, we could see the reactions to our words. My mother heard me and your son heard you. Take comfort in knowing that when he passed, he knew what he meant to you, and he knew you where there and did all you could. He'll be waiting on the other side, and it will get better.

Adam

bigdog,

There is nothing I can say that will give any meaning to this. Our children aren't supposed to leave us; we leave them in the end.

My wife is standing beside me, as we both cry for your loss. Please know that you have a bunch of the highest quality friends here that anyone ever had. I know I speak for all forum members, as we share your grief. Please share your thoughts with us any time...any time at all, my friend.

For the past year I have worried constantly about my son, but he his safely home now from Iraq. The pain would have beeen great if we had lost him, but we were prepared for the worst.

To lose a child without warning has to be the greatest pain any parent could suffer.

You have my deepest sympathy and my prayers.
