Hey all, I finally shot a couple deer with a gun, a shotgun to be exact.

This one was taken on Thanksgiving morning

And got this one on a stalk last Saturday afternoon

Congrats Ann!Looks like some good eating.

We had our opening day of rifle season yesterday. My daughter who just turned 12, went out for her first hunt. She nailed a 4 point buck through the heart with her 30-30 and an hour later got a doe. I used 1 of my doe tags also. Dragging 3 deer was a real chore LOL.

John, these were 12 ga slugs.

Iron, hey man, I really had it easy this year. The farmer who's letting me hunt the property is quite a gentleman. He insisted on gutting my game and then used his fork lift to put them up on top of my SUV so I could get them home! What a guy! Glad to hear your daugther is cleaning things up though. I need an email address from you as I have something interesting to pass on.

Oh, and the firt doe was taken from a HEATED shanty.

I think I died and went to heaven.

We have archery until January first yet and there is still a short muzzleloader week to come yet this month but I am on call except for the last two days of that. Can't get the muzzleloader I want anyway so it may be a bust for this year.

Mick,

Actually, I plan to ditch the shotgun for a muzzleloader. More range than the 12 ga. Just can't get the gun I want yet, they are perpetually out of stock.
