Our prayers and best wishes to those in the land of Oz for the horrible storm you just suffered. So far I hear of no deaths. That is a blessing.

The unfortunate souls directly affected will have no electricity for a while, so let me thank you on their behalf. It was a good storm all right, Category 5 as it crossed the coast, and it is indeed a miracle that no lives are reported lost at this stage. Hopefully that will still be the case in the final outcome.

Having been through a couple of hurricanes and dodging a couple of big one, I know the feeling of a monster bearing down you. Our brothers in Oz are in my thoguths and prayers.

A major part of the damage was to banana and sugar cane crops. Whole banana plantations were wiped out. Towns with large proportions of buildings damaged or destroyed.

Like Rusty, I live on the Gulf Coast of the U.S. We're very familiar with hurricanes so I can empathize with our friends in Australia. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
