I have been on this forum for a very short time, but I want to say that I certainly appreciate the knowledge that is shared here and the manner in which it is done. You folks make a new member feel welcome by treating them as a friend and by answering questions honestly and in a friendly manner. That is not always the case in other forums. Often on some forums new members are hammered pretty hard and made to feel unwelcome, but not here. I just wanted to let all of you know that your respect for new members is certainly appreciated by us newbies, thank you alot. Bigdog

We're glad to hear that Bigdog. And I have to agree that it certainly makes things much more enjoyable when people behave in the polite and informative way that is done here on NE.

I think the membership of this forum prides itself on civility. A person's knowledge is not measured by how long he or she has been a member of this forum. I've seen quite a few instances where a brand new member has specific in-depth knowledge to contribute. Everyone benefits from the addition of new members who join with a genuine interest in the topics discussed here. In sum, the logical reaction to a new member should be an extended hand of welcome.

I agree that NitroExpress.com stands out for the good qualities you mentioned. That's why I'm here and not participating on other forums. There are quite a few who feel that way, I suspect.

Bigdog,

Welcome here. I hunted deer in your part of Illinois (Michael and Kampsville) and my wife fell in love with the place. You really live in one of the most beautiful places in the world and have some of the biggest deer in the USA - can't get luckier than that!

Yes, this is a fantastic forum and it is the members who make it what it is. If you come up to Chicago any time, I'll be more than happy to buy you a drink.

In my opinion, NitroExpress has attained the highest standard of any hunting forum for quality member participation, civility, ethics, and level-headed administration.

I've been around several forums myself over the years, and I truly consider this place to be "home". I'm glad to be a part of it, and I'm double glad that, as a new member, you enjoy it as well!
