Can anyone post close up photos of the bolt handle of a Brno ZG? I need to make a new bolt knob for one of these and require photos showing the shape of the ball end and where it blends into the handle shank. Thanks

I just finished taking more pics. Do you care to see these as well or does Erik have it covered?

Adam, Is that the 3006? Your rifle has the same highly figured exhibition grade wood as mine
Who have made the scope mount?
Got your pm
4seventy, what is going on. New custom project?
Cheers /JOHAN

Adam, Thanks for posting those photos. Combined with Erics I now have plenty of detail to work with. Johan, A friend just bought a ZG in 8x64 which has had the bolt knob cut off and replaced with a huge black screw-on ball!! What a horror! How could anyone do that to one of these rifles. Looks like I'm getting the job of making a new knob and of course it would be good to keep the whole bolt handle and knob looking as close to original as possible hence the need for photos. I have the dimensions and also a tracing from another ZG. I have a lot of other jobs on the go at the moment and in reality would prefer he gets someone else to do it. We'll see what transpires. Thanks again guys for helping out on this.

In reply to:

I'd be interested to know more about those mounts too. Also Adam, what scope is that?

Here are the pics of the trigger as promised.
If you need any more pics, do not hesitate to ask.

Yes, that's the 30-06. The mounts/rings are factory CZ (mediums I believe) but some of the sockets on the screw heads are not in the center! They are also two piece. I will be picking up a set of Talleys QD with the knurled screw, instead of the levers, in three weeks. In a low recoiling rifle, you can get away with Parker Hale rings that fit the dovetail. The scope is Japanese: an Enterprise 4x40 that came off a used rifle I bought. It stood up to a 300 Wby and still seems to be going strong. Not meaning to hijack the tread, but does anybody know anything about these scopes?

Adam That scope has some features a little like the old Bushnell Scopechief range from the 60's. I have one in front of me at the moment, a 4X with a crosshair and command post reticle. That eyepiece on your scope appears to have a straight line knurled finish which the scopechiefs had also.

4seventy,
I moved this thread from the rifle forum, over here to the new Mauser forum.

Hello all
Could anybody say if BRNO ZG47 safety could be converted so that it could be screwed to m98 bolt and work with normal m98 cocking piece ? And then magazine, is the distance of screws same as m98 has ?

Yes, you can move the Shroud from ZG-47 to another Mauser but you must keep the firingpin (cut on the side) to make the safety work.
Distance between action screws is the same as the Oberndorf's I have measured.

Actually, I got two ZG-47's in my gun cabinet. I shall try to find the time and disassemble a bolt. Unfortunately no photos available at the moment.
