Get the Rifle regulated to the open sights and then work up loads
for the scope and / or the factory should set up the scope in the QD mounts
so that it shoots at least the right barrel to POA.

If you regulate the gun to the scope then the gun is effectively useless with
open sights.

Also, once the gun shoots to the sights, if the scope QD mounts have been
done correctly, then it should align itself with the open sights and as long as it
doesn't move you should be able to shoot the same rounds.

My Merkel 375 worked out fine.

well my rifle should be here in about two weeks, just got an e-mail from J.J,
I have a set of dies, some lapua 285 soft points & some loaded ammo from Norma,I am going to use it for brass,I hear the gun will be regulated for the Norma 285's.
I ordered QD mounts installed at the factory, does anybody have suggestions for a scope? cost being a factor at this point,I have to keep it reasonably priced, around $500.00,
I would lilike to have funds left over to possibly hunt in Texas this fall & try her out in the field

Singh

Congratulations on your purchase and decision. I bet you are looking forward to receiving it.

I would choose a good low powered variable such as a 1-4x, getting as close to a true 1x at the bottom end as I could. A 4x scope is adequate for medium game even at longer ranges.

I have a Leupold 1-4x on my 9.3mm and it has worked fine.

I intend to try a 1-4x Lightforce scope with illuminated reticle one of these days soon. They are VERY hard to get, but I spoke to the makers and I hope they reserve one for me. All the others go to Afghanistan as soon as they are ready, for US military use.

Singh:

Something like a 1.5X5 Leupold would be good. Are the rings 1" or 30mm?

Gentlemen,
thanks for your suggestions,
Nitrox,
what ranges have you hunted at with the 1-4x?

400NitroExpress,
the rings are 1''
