Hello. I am new to this forum and admire it much. I just bought a Winchester .375 Safari Express and am looking for a scope mounting system. I ran across an old Pachmayr lo-swing scope mount that, with some mods, would fit my rifle. Has anyone ever used this mount before? I am wondering how it would hold up to recoil. I like the idea of being able to just swing the scope out of the way without undoing levers and such in a hurry. What do you think? Thanks for your help!

It's sure worth a try.

But I will say this: Make sure that any necessary modifications be done to the mount itself, NOT your rifle. You can always replace that Pachmayr mount if you don't find you care for it, but any modifications you make to your rifle's receiver will be there for all-time.

Big difference...........

The only mods would be to open up the base for the long action and drill a new screw hole in the base.

Bushy, first of all, welcome to NitroExpress.
I have that mount on my first 375, a Whitworth Express. It is a strong, reliable mount. Just make sure that when you swing it back into position to use the scope, that it snaps down securely.

Bushy,

Welcome. I have one for an FN action that also fits my Interarms Alaskan in 375 H&H, same as mike416's Whitworth. It has worked without problem one. I think you will love the mount; it is "bullet-proof".

Another system you may want to look at is the Talbot Scope Mount. I have them on all my rifles and they are 100% return to zero.. They are strong .. And i've tested this many times.. When i going on a trip the scope goes in my carry on.. I think we all know the value of keeping the scope safe from the !@#$%..
Anwser Products will sale/put them on for you and you'll have a great system and piece of mind to boot..
These mounts have been put on many 375,416..I saw a 375 with the mounts for sale on Cabela's and it didn't last long someone knew the big plus..
Contact Al Talbot @ al@talbot.us or Anwser system on the web..

That's answerrifles.com..1-800-362-1857..
Don White owner..Ask for another platform for another Scope.. Maybe 30mm or have two 1 inch.. The platforms will fit any base on any Rifle which has the system .. Have Don explain it to you or Al..You won't be sorry..
