As the Safari season in Africa is winding down for the year, I was wondering who has been there this year and how did you do. Also if possible please post some details of the hunt, who you hunted with, and post some pics for us to enjoy.

I'd been in Botswana this year. This was my first time in this country and I enjoyed a lot there. Hunting is nice but expensive, anyway is the place to take a big elephant (+70 lbs) or even a real +40" buffalo.
I hunted with Jeff Rann company, the PH was Russell Tarr and everything was OK in the bush.
Finally I took a elephant, tssessebe, Red Lechwe, Black-Backed Jackal and Oryx. You can find pictures into other post.

The way that the cost of hunting is escalating in Africa i doubt very many people would be going there.

Putting dangerous game aside, there are some fantastic plains game hunts to be had at some very good prices. I'm sure some of our P.H. forum members will attest to that. On my trips to Africa (plains game only) I've never paid anywhere near what it costs to hunt Alaskan Brown Bear, or wild sheep, or even an Elk hunt on one of the premier hunting ranches. Africa is still quite a bargain if you look around and do your homework. On my last Safari I hunted for 10 days 1X1, and took Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Zebra, Impala, and many game birds for $5500.00.
