Gentleman I created the 550 magnum first of all to be an easy conversion of a Cz 550 mag 416 rigby or simular rifle. Next to be an affordable big bore. First I picked a brass source that would not have feeding or availability problems and tried to keep the cost down. It also must feed through a Cz 550 mag action or simular. I next decided to fill the gap between the .510 bore and the .585 bores. As a result the 550 magnum appears to have the capicity to compare with the 600 nitro express while keeping the beter penetration of the .510 cartridges.
458lott 500gr, 550mag 700gr, 550mag 800gr (Hawk), 600OK 900gr Bridger solid

Gentleman I need to put together a approx bullet order to hawk for the bullets. Anyone interested please let me know.
$54.00 a box 700gr .035 jacket $56.00 a box 800gr .035 jacket any combination 6 box min since he does not keep them in stock. with as many shooters as we could get on this they may turn into a stocked item.
$67.00 a box 700gr .065 jacket $69.00 a box 800gr .065 jacket
3 box min mixed order.
$.02 per bullet to put a crimp grove any where we want.
As far as bullet weight goes He said the way they are set up we can order from one extreme to the other 500gr-900gr
I think the 700gr .035 jacket is the place to start with a few 800gr
Barrels will be ordered on approx DEC 01

I went to Prescott Arizona to see Dan Pendersen at the barrel shop and here is what the barrel looks like so far. The washer is for the recoil lug. It is 26" long and .850" at the muzzle.

Looks like a serious cartridge, and formatted to fit a popular bolt rifle as well! Good show RNS! I may be looking at this one for a No1 conversion, as well! You should post this on the single shot forum as many there may be very interested!
